We Build For the Future

Warrior Group, today one of the largest woman/minority owned general contractors in the U.S., has been applying innovation and creativity to construction since the company was founded by Gail Warrior in 1997.

In the early years, Warrior Group focused on providing high-quality relocatable modular buildings to federal agencies including the Department of Defense, the Forest Service, the Department of Labor, the Veteran’s Administration, the Fish and Wildlife Service and several other agencies.

In 2006, we were part of the team that built 300,000+ square feet of modular barracks at Fort Bliss in El Paso, TX. This project, totaling over 1,000,000 square feet, was the largest temporary modular building complex ever built in the U.S.

As our reputation grew, so did our vision of how the principles behind the manufacture of modular buildings and the principles of site-built permanent buildings could be combined to create long-lasting, high-quality permanent buildings in less time and with less impact on the environment.

In 2007, we applied this innovative construction methodology (which we have termed Permanent Modular Construction or PMC) to build over 1,500,000 square feet of barracks at Fort Bliss in El Paso, Texas. The barracks were built using the same materials and finishes as traditional site-built buildings. However, the use of extensive off-site prefabrication allowed us to build to extremely exacting standards, complete the project in significantly less time, create less disruption at the project site and deliver buildings that are significantly more energy efficient.*

At the time, no one else was using the PMC method to construct large buildings. Warrior seized the opportunity to develop an expertise in PMC and our projects quickly became a new quality standard for public and private sector facilities.

Warrior Group has won more than 50 national, regional and local awards including the American Subcontractors Association’s 2011 Project of the Year, three 2011 Awards of Distinction from the Modular Building Institute, Honorable Mention in Environmental Design & Construction magazine’s 2011 Excellence in Design Awards, the DFW Minority Business Council’s Construction Company of the Year, and the 2009 Excellence Award from McGraw Hill. We are also ranked among the top woman- and minority-owned companies in the U.S.

Warrior Group has been privileged to be a part of several PMC ‘firsts’. We built the first 2-story barracks using permanent modular construction, as well as the first three- and four-story barracks. We have also managed the construction of the METC barracks at Fort Sam Houston, the largest permanent modular project of any type in the U.S. As an industry leader, Warrior has played a major role in promoting PMC within the construction industry.

Today Warrior’s experienced staff of construction professionals provides construction management services for new construction, renovations and additions for public- and private-sector clients. Our team has extensive experience collaborating closely with design teams, owners, engineers and other general contractors on complex projects using traditional site-build construction as well as PMC.
